Workers of the World UNITE!

Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration

Is Biden Serious?

April 30th, 2009 · No Comments

President Obama has done his best during the past 100 days.

He is fighting a global recession, war in two countries, opponents of the GOP, a new dog, etc.

And he’s kept long-winded Vice President Joe Biden relatively quiet.

Until today.

Joe has offended millions of subway riders today. He better get on the horn and fix it.

See you on the J Train Joe.

Should we make it 5 again?

April 28th, 2009 · No Comments

Eric Kettani of Navy was not selected in the 2009 NFL Draft.

He may get an offer to join the Patriots as an undrafted free agrent. As we said during the past weekend, the Patriots like his type of player.

If he does, we will continue to follow him and track his progress.

Until then, we will look to add another player to track.

2009 NFL Draft Recap

April 27th, 2009 · No Comments

I love football. The draft just lets me know that the season preparation is in full swing.

It’s like picking your buddies in the park: the game is about to begin. What a feeling!

The five that the SexPoliticsandFootball blog were watching turned out this way:

Clay Matthews III, LB from USC was selcted in the first round by the Green Bay Packers .

Alphonso Smith, Jr, DB, from Wake Forest was selected in the second round by the Denver Broncos.

Ramses Barden, WR, from Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo, was selected in the third round by the New York Giants.

Mike Thomas, WR, from Arizona, was selected in the fourth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Eric Kettani, FB, from the Naval Academy was not selected. The situation with him having to fulfill his entire 5-year committment to the Navy was too much for the NFL teaams.

Ryan Succopp, K-P, ws the last pick of the 2009 draft. He is this year’s winner of the Mr. Irrevelevant Award.

Round 7 has started!

April 26th, 2009 · No Comments

The draft is almost over.

I am awaiting to see if my man Eric Kettani from Navy will be drafted.

I have him going to the Pats with their last pick of the draft.

I can see them trading for the last pick and making him Mr. Irrevelant.

Let’s see how it goes.

Times have changed. First ‘cane is selected.

April 26th, 2009 · No Comments

Times have fallen hard on the “U” football program. Miami, after having 14 consecutive years of having a player go in the first round, just had their first player selected in the 2009 draft.

Spencer Adkins broke the drought. He was selected by the Falcons with the 3rd pick in the 6th round (176 overall).

Coach Shannon is rebuilding the program. Maybe they can start a new streak in a few years.

Nate Davis selected by 49ers

April 26th, 2009 · No Comments

While I wait for my boy Kettani to get drafted, a nice human interest story comes to mind.

Nate Davis, Ball State QB, was drafted by the 49ers with the 35th pick in the 5th round (171 st overall).

Jeffri Chadiha of ESPN the Magazine wrote a nice piece about Davis a few weeks ago.

Here’s wishing him all the best

The Blind Side

April 26th, 2009 · No Comments

Michael Oher, was selected in the 2009 draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

I say no more. Read his story here.

I think it’s safe to say that Michael Oher has been led to the light.

Congrats to him and his family.
