If I could return to college football, I guess I would do like Le Garrette Blount, and attend Oregon. I like the uniforms man.
I really liked today’s helmet. Reminds me of the days of graffiti in the Big Apple.

Jim Grobe, Head Coach at Wake Forest, is the Coach of the Year in the ACC right now. Deamon Deacons held on to defeat a spirited Ole’ Miss squad. This win saved face for the embattled conference. Check out Pat Forde’s comments on the ESPNU College Football podcast.
ESPN’s Rece Davis bought up a point during the College Football Scoreboard show, that maybe the SEC isn’t that strong. His premise was that the conference didn’t beat anyone in the opening weekend, and Week 2 was maybe less impressive, especially since some teams were struggling.

Miami vs. Florida just is not what is used to be. FIrst they don’t play against each other enough. Second, Miami fell off, and fell off fast!
Yet, in the 4th quarter Tebow’s Supermen are only up 2 field goals on Shannon’s Sophs, 9-3. Tebow has just engineered a drive to bring the score to 16-3.
The final turns out to be 26-3. FInal doesn’t indicate how game really went.
Maybe Rece has a point.
Speaking of Florida, I was watching the South Florida/Central Florida game. It was a barnburner. Bulls were up 24-10 in the 4th quarter. Dante Culpepper’s Golden Knights came back and tied it up.
I am sure Bobby Bowden is saying to himself, why don’t I get those kids anymore?
Update, Bulls beat Golden Knights. Isn’t that an anti-climatic way to end a game? Watching to see if the offense didn’t make a first down? Man.
Coach Leavitt, if he keeps winning at USF, how long does he stay? Should FSU go after him?
BCS schools should not play Division 1-AA or FCS schools. I know all about App State victory over Michigan last year, and believe me I rooted hard for them during that game, but they are an aberration.
I would like to see more of those schools play the Non BCS schools.
It doesn’t matter if you lose to them because you’ve got to run the table to go to a BCS game.
While I love the great upset, I hate non-competetive games. Who benefits from these non-competetive games except the whore school who gets a big pay-day?
It also is a question of safety. Some of those guys are just too big, strong, athletic, and advanced football wise o be whipping up on those kids.
Notre Dame sucks! I don’t care if they won the game. They suck. SDSU lost to Cal Poly last week at home. And the Aztecs lost this game, too. ND did not beat them. I know my son will be angry with my comments, and so what.

That might be the only game the Irish win this year. They will not beat Syracuse. Navy will win its 2nd in a row over the Irish. Weiss will go back to the pros.
Too bad Coughlin won the Super Bowl last year. I am sure Weiss was hoping to land that gig, especially after the GIants got off to a 2-0 start.
To all coaches building a program, when you play your hump game, go all out.
Temple was playing at UConn and winning in the midst of Hurricane Hanna, 6-0 at the end of 3 quarters.
UConn came back, tied the game, and eventually won in OT, 13-9.
Coach Golden is looking at the tape and checking off the plays where he should have gone all out to get the win.
He’s got nothing to be ashamed of. He went all OUT! This experience will help his team win the MAC this year.
Coach Golden, along with Coach Holtz, will be at different programs next year.
Who knows, maybe one of them will be at Washington.
Or Syracuse! The Orange are worse than Notre Dame! They got routed by Akron at home.
That is unacceptable. You can t be defeated by that at home to a non-BCS school that is not projected to win their conference title.
I was listening to Seth Everett on ESPN1050 today. He was subbing for Jody MacDonald. He made a great comment: Syracuse football has turned into Rutgers. Rutgers football has turned into Syracuse.
I can tell you when this changed. 2004. Ray Rice, Courtney Greene, and Glen Lee were headed to Syracuse. Darryl Goss, just hired as AD from USC, fired Paul Pasqualoni, and hired Greg Robinson, who was the defensive coordinator at Texas, and also had NFL coordinator experience.
That really impressed the New Rochelle trio. All three players went to Rutgers.
Greg Schiano was putting the pieces together. New Rochelle’s Rice and Greene really led a resurgence in the program. Rice is now with the Baltimore Ravens after rushing for over 2,000 yards in his career. Greene, now a senior is also headed to the league next season.
Rutgers record since the Syracuse change:
2005 7-5
2006 11-2
2007-9-4
3 bowl games with 2 victories in the last contests (Insight, Texas, and International).
Syracuse record in that span
2005 1-10
2006 4-8
2007 3-9
The Scarlet Knights have destroyed the Orange in those years by the scores of 31-9, 38-7, and 38-14.
Forget about getting rid of Robinson, how about getting rid of the AD?
Speaking of Rutgers, walk-on tryouts are coming up. Please let me know if you make it. Love to interview you.
Dave Parry, head of the NCAA football refs in 2009, said that the Lockar call in the BYU/Washington game was because Lockar threw the ball in the air, and that the move is excessive.
I hate people like this. They remind me of politicians and parents. Thin-skinned and defensive. Always making a freaking excuse for their behavior and actions.
I wish more people were like Jesus Soto.
Better that Mr. Parry woud not have been interviewd by the Reece Davis, then to get up there and say that they’ve been told to crack down on this.
Did they see the drive that Jake led his team on?
76 yards on 17 plays. Couple of conversions in long yardage. Had to be accurate, as well take punishment.
That was an impressive drive.
He’s not supposed to be happy about that?
I hope Dave will hire Ty Willingham on his staff when UW lets him go.
Week 3 Early predictions in College Football:
USC will crush Ohio State. Pete will blitz the hell out of the Buckeyes. Pryor will have to play the entire second half because starting QB Boeckman will be jacked up from Ray Maualuga and company. They Buckeyes have no chance. If they thought Florida and LSU were fast, wai till they chase Joe McKnight. Carson Palmer will be happy.
BYU will beat UCLA. Too many injuries for the Bruins. Cougs make it 3 out of the last 4 in 36 months over Rick’s fun bunch. BYU is on the road to the BCS.
My other BCS buster, Fresno State will beat Wisconsin at home. Badgers will stop making these trips, and will frighten other teams from playing non-BCS schools on the road. Bulldogs are my other pick to go to the BCS.
