Why does this happen?

I am on the 5 train going downtown yesterday. There are 4-seat chairs (2 of them) based in the corner of some of the cars.

At 59^th street, the woman pictured gets on the train, and basically imposes her fat ass will on two unsuspecting young women.

The woman, who had to be close to 250 lbs. basically squished herself between the two young women. There was not enough room to fit her ass in the slot. She should have stood. On top of that the strap-hanger had a shish kabob sandwich in her hand that she just had to eat on the subway.

I want to be sensitive here and understand that the working class work extremely hard. She appeared to be a nurse or a home-attendant and it’s a thankless job.

I am the working class.

And I am fat! I can’t believe that this woman probably weighs less than me.

And that doesn’t mean you think you are entitled to a seat on the subway because you’ve been working hard all day.

The same goes for the all the fucking men who sit on the subway with their legs spread out, or even worse, lay down and go to sleep on a seat.

I don’t know what to do about the lack of compassion and consideration in the city. This sucks!
